摘要: Background: The objective of this study was to determine the significant differences in preoperative and operative characteristics, postoperative outcomes patients having coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) who are smokers those not smokers. Methods: Data were collected prospectively all (2916) their first CABG. cared for a regional medical center by private physicians. No operations denied because smoking status. Smokers differed from nonsmokers several characteristics. Results: Analysis morbidity mortality showed no instance which fared worse than nonsmokers. Stepwise logistic regression analysis that predictive mortality. Smoking except it less probability need intra-aortic balloon pump (7.5% non-smokers 4.7% smokers). We then created groups individually matched age sex. there difference incidence or magnitude factors recent myocardial infarction more common Nonsmokers had greater weight, body mass index (obesity), ejection fraction. There at 99% confidence level. Conclusion: conclude is delay CABG
