Evaluation of prediction models of fatigue for asphalt mixes

摘要: To enhance the understanding of fatigue testing asphalt mixes, especially at design stage, this study was initiated to investigate possibility evaluating life mixes using simple fracture tests (i.e. Semi-Circular Notched Bending (SCNB) Test). Results have shown that a viable correlation exists between parameters determined by monotonic and cyclic SCNB, based on these results three models were developed statistical analysis. It illustrated strain energy had better prediction than other parameters. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis carried out evaluate models. Tornado plots extreme tail analyses showed parameter most contribution predictions among evaluated Finally, not replace traditional assessment, but serve as screening tool help eliminate weak before conducting more sophisticated time consuming tests. Thus, pavement mix various could be compared without use expensive testing.
