摘要: The objective of the present study was to determine effect severe dietary protein deficiency on serum zinc concentration in weanling animals fed either a requirement level or very high zinc. Weanling (21-day-old) male and female CBA/J mice were randomly assigned be one four diets containing 1.7% approximately 18.5% 7 micrograms (predetermined level) about 200 per gram formulation. Serum levels measured after 14-day feeding period. Dietary content, over range tested, did not influence deficient mice, these exhibited concentrations which much lower than found adequately nourished (7 micrograms/g diet). These results indicate that supplementation is unable restore normal status severely protein-deficient animals. This may an important factor consider when studying zinc-sensitive physiological processes.
