摘要: Aims  The purpose of this systematic review was to examine the effectiveness community health workers in supporting care persons with diabetes. Methods  Computerized searches were conducted multiple electronic bibliographic dababases until March 2004. We identified studies any language and design that examined diabetes-related interventions involving reported outcomes diabetes. Results synthesized narratively. Results  Eighteen identified, including eight randomized controlled trials. Most focused on minority populations USA. roles duties diabetes varied, ranging from substantial involvement patient providing instrumental assistance education sessions taught by other professionals. Participants generally satisfied their contacts participant knowledge increased. Improvements physiological measures noted for some positive changes lifestyle self-care a number studies. There few data economic outcomes, but several demonstrated decrease inappropriate utilization.
