摘要: This study investigated the effect of a modified photoactivation protocol using two simultaneous light-curing units on shear bond strength (SBS) brackets to enamel. Metal were bonded bovine incisors resin-based orthodontic cement Transbond XT (3M Unitek). Four protocols tested (n=15): Control: for 10 s each proximal face bracket at time; Simultaneous: both faces same One side-20s: 20 one only; and side-10s: only bracket. SBS was immediately or after 1000 thermal cycles. Adhesive remnant index (ARI) classified. Data subjected two-way ANOVA Student-Newman-Keuls' test (α=0.05). Pooled means ± standard deviations enamel (MPa) were: 10.2±4.2 (Control), 9.7±4.5 (Simultaneous), 5.6±3.1 (One side-20s), 4.6±1.9 side-10s). data immediate cycled groups 6.3±2.6 8.8±5.2. A predominance ARI scores 1-2 0-1 observed thermally groups, respectively. In conclusion, units, positioned bracket, yielded similar bonding ability compared conventional method. Photoactivation is not recommended, irrespective time used.
