摘要: The phylum Cnidaria is one of the most important contributors in providing abundance bio- and chemodiversity. In this study, a comprehensive chemical investigation on nutritional nutraceutical properties Mediterranean jellyfish Pelagia noctiluca was carried out. Also, compositional differences between male female organisms, as well their main anatomical parts, namely bell oral arms, were explored an attempt to select best potential sources nutrients and/or nutraceuticals from jellyfish. With exception higher energy densities total phenolic contents observed females than males, no statistically significant related specimen’s sex highlighted for other compound classes. Rather, distribution investigated classes varied depending jellyfish’s body parts. fact, crude proteins more abundant arms bells; saturated fatty acids concentrated bells whereas polyunsaturated distributed exact opposite way. On hand, major elements trace demonstrated behavior, being latter accumulated bells. Additionally, nutraceuticals, such eicosapentaenoic docosahexaenoic acids, antioxidant minerals, determined. Overall, obtained data suggest employment P. development natural aquafeed food supplements.
