Pathological findings of angiographically occult vascular malformation.

摘要: Forty cases with angiographically occult vascular malformations (AOVMs), in which the diagnosis was confirmed pathologically, are analysed. Pathology of AOVMs were classified into 22 AVMs (20 thrombosed, two cryptic), 16 cavernous and capillary telangiectasias. The location cerebral hemisphere (32), cerebellum (3), thalamus (2), lateral ventricle (1), brain stem (1) optic nerve (1). Common characteristic histopathological features between thrombosed that had subclinically bled past apparently proceeded to undergo various degree thrombosis, fibrosis calcification. However, addition these findings, showed a contribution arterial components, hypertrophied wall intervening gliotic tissue. On other hand, closely packed abnormal vessels surrounding collagen band. All cryptic presented haemorrhagic episodes small nidus within clot proven histological specimens. findings discussed.
