摘要: This paper examines issues arising from the involuntary relocation of Turkish Cypriot refugees southern to northern portion island Cyprus. After ceasefire in 1974, participants this study were relocated into homes originally built and occupied by Greek Cypriots. Using data obtained questionnaires, semi-structured interviews drawings, analyses their place attachment under unusual circumstances own forced coupled with occupation abandoned residents also displaced war interethnic hostility. The compares children, who born brought up new community. results suggest that participants' future expectations shaped community, whilst degree previous environments played an important role process. Younger generations, on other hand, more attached current environment than older generations; however they did not wish be identified environment.
