摘要: This study investigated whether experiences of racist events were related to psychological distress, negative health behaviors, and problems. Participants 71 African American women (mean age 44.4) who recruited from an urban cancer-screening clinic as part a larger longitudinal on familial risk breast cancer. completed three assessments, approximately one month apart, data collected via self-report. Correlational analyses revealed that past year lifetime racism both distress. Among smokers drinkers, was positively correlated with number cigarettes drinks consumed. Lifetime negatively perceived health, history physical disease frequency recent common colds. Analyses using general linear model these relationships largely unaccounted for by other variables.
