摘要: Centrioles are short microtubule-based organelles with a conserved ninefold symmetry. They essential for both centrosome formation and cilium biogenesis in most eukaryotes. A core set of five centriolar proteins has been identified their sequential recruitment to procentrioles established. However, structures at atomic resolution the components were scarce, underlying molecular mechanisms centriole assembly had mystery—until recently. In this review, I briefly summarize recent advancements high-resolution structural characterization discuss perspectives field.
