摘要: Although continuous performance tasks (CPTs) are becoming more common in psychiatric research, it remains unclear which measures best differentiate patient groups and along psychological dimensions. To address this the authors examined sustained attention decrements patients with bipolar disorder schizophrenia using CPT of perceptual sensitivity, response bias, psychomotor processing speed. Patients psychotic features (N=20), healthy controls (N=20) were evaluated structured clinical interviews. These rated Scale for Assessment Positive Symptoms Young Mania Rating before completing a degraded-stimulus version CPT. Psychomotor speed was only measure that reliably differentiated across entire vigilance period strongest predictor group membership. findings suggest reaction time may be sensitive to differences abilities schizophrenia. By incorporating into assessments, discriminant ability enhanced.
