摘要: In Germany, phage research and application can be traced back to the beginning of 20th century. However, with triumphal march antibiotics around world, significance bacteriophages faded in most countries, respective mainly focused on fundamental questions niche applications. After a century, we pay tribute overuse that led multidrug resistance calls for new strategies combat pathogenic microbes. Against this background, came into spotlight researchers practitioners again resulting fast growing “phage community”. October 2017, part community met at 1st German Phage Symposium share their knowledge experiences. The participants discussed open challenges related therapy phages general. This report summarizes presentations given, highlights main points round table discussion concludes an outlook different aspects application.
