摘要: Guwahati, the lone city on bank of entire midstream Brahmaputra River, is facing acute civic problem due to severe depletion water quality its natural bodies. This work an attempt towards assessment a relatively small tributary called Bharalu River flowing through that has been transformed today into drainage channel. By analyzing key physical, chemical and biological parameters for samples drawn from different locations, dissolved load pollution levels at segments in river was made. Locations where contaminants exceeded permissible limits during seasons were identified by examining spatial temporal variations. A GIS developed watershed with four layers data used evaluating influence catchment land use characteristics. BOD, DO total phosphorus found be sensitive adversely affected Bharalu. Relationship among revealed causes sources degradation study area catchments input, anthropogenic activities poor waste management. Elevated phosphorus, BOD depleted level downstream develop ANN model taking as inputs oxygen output, which indicated based predictive tool can utilized monitoring future.
