Cross-Layer Adaptation of MPEG4 Video Streaming Over Wireless Networks Using Unequal Error Protection and MC-CDMA

摘要: A novel methodology for the efficient multiplexing and streaming of MPEG4 video over wireless networks is presented discussed. The proposed cross-layer adaptation jointly exploits variable-bitrate (VBR) multi-carrier code-division (MC-CDM) Fine-Grain-Scalability (FGS) in order to provide unequal error protection transmitted stream. shared bandwidth partitioned into orthogonal sub-channels multiplex different layers MPEG4-coded signals. Lower are assigned a higher number (and hence an increased frequency diversity) as compared FGS enhancement layers, differentiated against channel degradations. 2-GHz LEO multicast satellite transmission system has been considered application testbed methodology. Results achieved terms PSNR show that VBR MC-CDM technique can better results than conventional single-layer MC-SS transmission. In framework full-digital implementation reconfigurable multimedia transceivers, may be regarded convenient solution reliable transmissions mobile environments.
