摘要: A field test was conducted to determine the comparison between drivers’ usage of a normal adaptive cruise control (ACC) system and cooperative ACC (CACC) that uses vehicle-vehicle communication enable shorter gaps tighter gaps. Sixteen drivers from general public drove both systems on their daily commute trips, driving behavior subjective opinions were recorded. The results show had strong preference for enabled by CACC, but there significant differences in preferences shown male female drivers. This implies potential CACC produce increases achievable capacity per highway lane if be widely used.
