摘要: As a promising approach for carbon dioxide capture, chemical looping combustion has been extensively investigated more than two decades. However, the strategy can be and extended well beyond capture. In fact, significant impacts on emission reduction, energy conservation, value-creation anticipated from (CLBC). This article aims to demonstrate versatility transformational benefits of CLBC. Specifically, we focus use oxygen carriers or redox catalysts production – $4 trillion industry that consumes 40.9 quadrillion BTU energy. Compared state-of-the-art technologies, illustrate offers opportunities process intensification exergy loss minimization. many cases, an order magnitude reduction in consumption CO2 realized without needs addition providing various CLBC examples, this elaborates generalized design principles CLBC, potential pitfalls, as catalyst selection, design, optimization, reaction mechanism.
