Surveying the citizen science landscape

摘要: Citizen science has seen enormous growth in recent years, part due to the influence of Internet, and a corresponding interest. However, few stand-out examples that have received attention from media researchers are not representative diversity field as whole, therefore may be best models for those seeking study or start citizen project. In this work, we present results survey project leaders, identifying sub-groups types according variety features related design management, including funding sources, goals, participant activities, data quality processes, social interaction. These combined highlight science, providing an overview breadth phenomenon laying foundation comparison between projects other online communities.
