摘要: Abstract The chloroplast rps12 gene encoding ribosomal protein S12 from wild-type as well streptomycin-resistant and -dependent mutants of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was cloned sequenced. At least six mRNA transcripts ranging in size 800 to 4800 nucleotides were found contain the coding sequence. As Escherichia coli Euglena, C. is continuous, contrast its trans-spliced structure higher plants. However, no longer immediately adjacent rps7 S7 it other organisms. deduced amino acid sequence shows strong homologies (48-79% identity) sequences organisms, but has extra residues at C terminus. Single base pair changes different sites result or with identical comparable mutations E. protein. also expressed under control own promoter cells, produced assembles into ribosomes where appears function efficiently.
