Spiritual care in nursing: a concept analysis

摘要: Background Around the world, spiritual care in nursing is a critical part of providing holistic care, but within our profession, there lack certainty over meaning spirituality and delivery including nurses thinking as religion. Methods We adopted eight-step Walker Avant's concept analysis approach to provide definition concept, searching analysing international national online databases. Inclusion criterion included that articles were published between 1950 2012 English or Persian language. Finally, 151 7 books analysis. Findings The attributes are healing presence, therapeutic use self, intuitive sense, exploration perspective, patient-centredness, meaning-centred intervention creation spiritually nurturing environment. Spiritual subjective dynamic unique aspect integrates all other aspects. It emerges context nurses’ awareness transcendent dimension life reflects patient's reality. The provision leads positive consequences such for patients promotion nurses. Implications Nursing Health Policy The conceptual provided this study can help clinical nurses, educators nurse managers develop implement evidence-based health policies, comprehensive staff training programmes practical quality assessment guidelines try ensure competent include relevant practice. Conclusion A ensued. findings facilitate further development knowledge practice correction common misconceptions about care.
