摘要: The use of gel electrophoresis to separate and, in some instances, quantify the abundance large numbers proteins from complex mixtures, has been well established for several decades. quantity publicly available data is still relatively modest due a lack community accepted standards, tools facilitate sharing process and controlled vocabularies ensure that consistent terminology used describe experimental methodology. It becoming widely recognised there are significant benefits proteomics, allowing results be verified new findings generated by re-analysis published studies. We report on standards development Gel Analysis Workgroup Proteomics Standards Initiative. workgroup develops reporting requirements, formats electrophoresis, informatics performed images. present tutorial how such resources can should get involved with on-going projects. Finally, we roadmap future developments this area.
