An evaluation of attenuation relationships for seismic hazard assessment in the UK

摘要: Seismic safety considerations are required in the UK for those industries where risk of failure is unacceptable. In 1980s a series studies were performed by Principia Mechanica Ltd (PML) that developed attenuation equations PGA and spectral ordinates, suitable use UK, which have since been widely used hazard assessments. The increase numbers strong-motion records major advances modelling, made it appropriate PML relations to be reviewed and, if necessary, updated. This paper presents an overview study carried out this purpose.
