摘要: In this article we discuss flows in shallow, stratified horizontal layers of two immiscible fluids. The top layer is an electrolyte which electromagnetically driven and the bottom a dielectric fluid. Using quasi-two-dimensional approximation, derive depth-averaged two-dimensional (2D) vorticity equation includes prefactor to advection term, previously unaccounted for. addition, study how components velocity vary vertical direction. For Kolmogorov-like flow, evaluate analytical expressions for coefficients generalized 2D equation, uncovering their dependence on experimental parameters. To test accuracy these estimates, experimentally measure fields at free-surface electrolyte-dielectric interface using particle image velocimetry (PIV). We show that there excellent agreement between predictions measurements. Our analysis shows by increasing viscosity relative dielectric, one may significantly improve uniformity flow along
