摘要: Introduction: Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), the outcome of a viral infection human virus (HIV) has not only affected individuals physically, but have also lost their social identity due to societal stigma and discrimination. Counseling is considered powerful tool creating positive attitudes among these patients thus enhancing quality life (QOL). Objective: The aim was explore physical psychosocial problems people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) evaluate effectiveness counseling on patients. Materials Methods: A pre-experimental design adopted for study. total 100 samples were selected through purposive sampling technique. Demographic proforma, sign symptom check-list, WHOQOL-BREF scale instruments utilized data analyzed using SPSS 16. Results: Majority subjects males below 41 years. 75% married belonged rural community. About 53% had primary education. Though 77% antiretroviral therapy (ART) therapy, most CD4 count <410 cells/mm 3 . common ailment faced by HIV gas/bloating thirst psychologically them found be less meaningful. Pre-intervention, QOL poor subjects. significantly revealed change in (p<0.005). study findings unveiled significant association taking ART medication (p=0.005). Conclusion: experience indeed stressful event. Health care team members must address emotional concerns patients, along medical needs. proved that nurses play vital effective role counseling.
