摘要: Fucoidans are marine sulfated biopolysaccharides that have heterogenous and complicated chemical structures. Various sugar monomers, glycosidic linkages, molecular masses, branching sites, sulfate ester pattern content involved within their backbones. Additionally, sources, downstream processes, geographical seasonal factors show potential effects on fucoidan structural characteristics. These characteristics documented to be highly related activities. Therefore, numerous qualitative quantitative determinations elucidation methods conducted characterize fucoidans regarding physicochemical features. Characterization of polymers is considered a bottleneck for further biological industrial applications. Consequently, the obtained results may different activities, which could improved afterward by functional modifications. The current article highlights spectrometric nonspectrometric applied characterization native fucoidans, including degree purity, monomeric composition, sulfation content, mass, linkages.
