Preparation of amino functionalized silica micro beads by dry method for supporting silver nanoparticles with antibacterial properties

摘要: Abstract The development of resistance to antibiotics and disinfectants as well the occurrence many adverse effects caused by using conventional antibacterial agents like chlorine compounds have prompted scientists search for new agents. Among nanomaterials, silver nanoparticles proven be a good alternative its properties. In this study, nanoparticle-supported silica micro beads (Ag-NPBs) with sizes ranging from 180 500 μm been prepared. Silica gel was synthesized sol–gel route crushed into beads, which were modified 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane so-called dry method. Silver directly created on surface in pores chemical reduction. prepared materials characterized FT-IR, BET, XRD, FE-SEM, FE-STEM, UV–vis spectrophotometer, optical microscope. mostly distributed at outer layer amino functionalized beads. Ag-NPBs samples examined their properties against Escherichia coli ( E. ) Bacillus subtilis B. ). excellent confirmed zone inhibition test tube test. Zone inhibitory tests proved that effective both gram negative positive bacteria while indicated no detected after 1 min contact.
