Adsorption Thermodynamics of Cr(VI) Removal by Using Agro-Industrial Waste of Oil Palm Bagasse and Plantain Peels

摘要: The effect of temperature on the adsorption Cr (VI) was determined with waste materials from agroindustry, such as palm bagasse and plantain peels, by determining thermodynamic parameters which allow to establish mechanisms that control process. methodology included an initial preparation biomass, its characterization, subsequent tests setting concentration metal 100 ppm, a particle size 0,5 mm, biomass amount 0,325 g, pH 2, volume mL. process varied between 303,15, 352,15 K. remaining in solution performed using diphenyl carbazide colorimetric method through UVVis spectroscopy at wavelength 540 nm. results show does not present defined trend for bagasse, whereas it is linear peels. Furthermore, more favorable higher temperatures, since spontaneous physical mechanism. On other hand, peels thermodynamically feasible temperatures 40 55 °C temperatures. Also, physicochemical mechanism evinced. It concluded use studied possible removal ion aqueous solutions.
