摘要: Surface water samples were collected from 21 sampling sites throughout the Subarnarekha River during pre-monsoon, monsoon and post-monsoon seasons. The concentrations of Al, As, Ba, Cr, Co, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Se, V Zn determined using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry for seasonal fluctuation, source apportionment heavy metal pollution indexing. results demonstrated that metals showed significant seasonality most variables exhibited higher levels in pre-monsoon season. Principal component analysis outcome four factors together explained 73.13 % variance with $$>$$ 1 initial Eigenvalue indicating both innate anthropogenic activities as contributing profusion river. To assess composite influence all considered on overall quality water, indices calculated. HPI surface river considering seasons locations was 32.27. calculated individual great variations ranging 3.55 to 388.9. All fall under low medium classes except few which are industries, mining or near estuary. enhanced certain industrial establishments may be attributed contribution area.
