摘要: Data on lion home range size, pride density, group cub survival, litter size and adult sex ratio were extracted from studies carried out in 10 habitats. The data compared with five measures of food supply: mean prey biomass, biomass during the season greatest abundance, least middle-sized species (i.e. those live-weights between 50 250 kg), carcasses fed by lions. results indicated that is inversely correlated abundance period but not overall abundance. Range showed no consistent variation or minimum metabolic requirements. Pride (measured terms average number animals per females) survival strongly lean No relationship was found any supply Adult did vary consistently although suggest prides inhabiting small, circumscribed reserves may experience less inter-male competition this, turn, affect ratio.
