Intensive photocatalytic activity enhancement of Bi 5 O 7 I via coupling with band structure and content adjustable BiOBr x I 1− x

摘要: Band structure and component content are the key factors for determining activity of semiconductor heterojunction. In this study, a novel Bi 5 O 7 I/BiOBr x I 1− heterostructure was synthesized by simple hydrobromic (HBr) acid etching method through transforming partial to − ion doped BiOBr (BiOBr ) at room temperature without adding extra dopant. Both band alter with additive HBr acid. The (S3.0) sample exhibits best photocatalytic activity, 6 times higher than that pure I, degradation methyl orange under visible-light ( λ  > 420 nm). enhancement is primarily ascribed improved separation efficiency photocharges, originated from adjustable content. significant findings paper provide facile way construct highly efficient heterojunction via playing synergetic effect purifying organic pollutants in wastewater.
