摘要: Abstract Compared with ethanol or methanol, butanol has higher heating value and miscibility. Because of lower cetane number butanol, butanol-diesel blends are more suitable for diesel low temperature combustion (LTC). In the paper, experimental study was carried out on a modified single cylinder heavy duty engine to investigate effects n-butanol EGR engine's emission characteristics. CA50 timing fixed at 8 °CA ATDC two different volume fractions (20% 40%) were blended into fuel. The results showed that increase fraction, ignition delay prolonged, (d p /d φ ) max increased indicated thermal efficiency (ITE) had slight increase. Fuel properties little NO x emission, but proportion decreased 2 fraction. With addition, CO THC (total hydrocarbon) emissions levels, soot reduced greatly soot-bump almost eliminated. rate, CH 4 increased, addition could decrease proportion.
