摘要: Background: Drinking alcohol during pregnancy can result in severe developmental disorders the child. Symptoms of fetal spectrum disorder (FASD) comprise growth deficiencies, abnormal facial phenotype and damage or dysfunction central nervous system. Numerous diagnostic methods for phenotyping FASD exist, but diagnoses are still difficult. Our aim was to find additional objective verification FAS(D). Methods: Three-dimensional dental models 60 children (30 FAS 30 controls) were used metrically determine maximum palatal depths at median palatine raphe. scans taken, vertical distances face measured five defined landmarks (FP1-FP5) each Results: Mean height, total length as well FP4-FP5 did not significantly differ between group control group. Comparing subdivisions, however, resulted significant differences FP1 FP2 (p = 0.042, > controls), FP3 FP5 0.007, controls). Conclusions: Metric measurements be criteria diagnoses. However, no reported depth evaluation specific age range tested present study.
