摘要: Until recently, German laws protecting the human embryo from moment of conception were some strictest internationally. These had previously prevented any manipulation embryo, such as in preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), and continue to affect stem cell research. In 2011, however, parliament voted favour allowing PGD specific cases. While modification law earlier analysis was interpreted being keeping with usual norms Germany, this article argues instead that reasoning behind partial acceptance PGD, rather than legal decision itself, is indicative a sociocultural change needs be accredited. Demonstrating significant occurred, analyses arguments led amendment law: not only has identity been redefined towards pragmatic concept but notions parenting pregnancy have also changed. The focus on mother birth given way 'genetic couplehood'. professional discourse preceding suggested rights not-yet-implanted should negotiated those two parents-to-be, may called 'in-vitro pregnancy'.
