An analysis of Internet content delivery systems

摘要: In the span of only a few years, Internet has experienced an astronomical increase in use specialized content delivery systems, such as networks and peer-to-peer file sharing systems. Therefore, understanding on lnternet now requires detailed how these systems are used practice.This paper examines from point view four systems: HTTP web traffic, Akamai network, Kazaa Gnutella traffic. We collected trace all incoming outgoing network traffic at University Washington, large university with over 60,000 students, faculty, staff. From this trace, we isolated characterized belonging to each classes. Our results (1) quantify, rapidly increasing importance new particularly networks, (2) characterize behavior perspectives clients, objects, servers, (3) derive implications for caching
