摘要: In this paper we describe an important use of predictive application performance modelling - the validation measured during a new large-scale system installation. Using previously-developed and validated model for SAGE, multidimensional, 3D, multi-material hydrodynamics code with adaptive mesh refinement, were able to help guide stabilization Los Alamos ASCI Q supercomputer. This was installed in several stages has peak processing rate 20-Teraflops. We review salient features analytical SAGE that been applied predict its on large class Tera-scale parallel systems. methodology installation upgrades establish baseline achievable "real" system. also show effect overall certain key subsystems such as PCI bus speed processor speed. utilization models can be powerful debugging tool.
