摘要: Abstract The two bacteria-induced crustin genes, Plcrustin1 and Plcrustin2, previously found in the hemocyte cDNA library of Pacifastacus leniusculus , contain open reading frames 357 bp encoding a putative protein 118 amino acid residues 330 bp 109 residues, respectively. carboxyl-terminal part crustins possesses, respectively, 7 8 conserved cysteine representation WAP domain that is carcinins other several crustaceans. sequences Plcrustin2 show they belong to type I crustins. In order characterize their properties biological activities, recombinant proteins were produced Escherichia coli expression system. Antimicrobial assays showed growth only one Gram-positive bacterium, Micrococcus luteus M1 11, was inhibited by with MIC about 0.07–0.27 μM 3.5–8 μM, addition, study inhibition mechanism revealed antimicrobial activity result bactericidal effect. However, did not exhibit inhibitory activities against trypsin, chymotrypsin, elastase subtilisin A.
