摘要: Abstract. Atmospheric processing and CCN formation of Saharan dust is illustrated through the analysis a case transport over northern Europe. This spread investigated by combining satellite, airborne ground-based observations non-hydrostatic meso-scale model Meso-NH. The altitude plume during its to northwestern Europe was assessed using CALIPSO our results. major transported toward Mediterranean European regions between 2 5 km above sea level (a.s.l.). confirmed an average particle depolarization ratio equal 30%. Due transport, this layer split into two layers Europe, we analyzed in paper possible mixing pollution aerosol with particles lower layer. simulations have shown that has interacted anthropogenic mainly Belgium Netherlands. analyses numerical simulation results show mineral accumulated soluble material internal value CCN0.2 / CN obtained Netherlands (~ 70%) much greater than those observed region. In addition Netherlands, measurement reached 14 000 cm−3 at 0.63% supersaturation on 30 May. Our reveal more 70% concentration May can be explained presence aged dust. study reveals heterogeneous reactions inorganic salts converted compounds were sufficiently impact hygroscopic growth cloud droplet activation
