摘要: We live in a rapidly changing world, and the veterinary profession is along with it. The globalisation of markets, climate change, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), accelerating technologies such as artificial intelligence disconnect between rural farming communities urban populations represent great challenges for traditional cattle farming, and, therefore, practice. Reflection on future large animal practice not new phenomenon. Ten years ago, Lowe report1 specifically explored dynamics sector. Areas concern highlighted then included retention farm vets, differing roles required livestock vets potential business models future. Given recent publication EAT- Lancet 2 IPCC Climate Change Land3 reports, are these still key areas concern? In paper summarised p 205 this issue Vet Record , Woodward colleagues review insights from qualitative study investigating strategies education.4 Six focus were developed thematic analysis telephone interviews 12 opinion leaders (KOLs) within sectors: structure, income, collaboration, role vet, vet-farmer relationship generation vets. Interestingly, five KOLs did consider four themes: income vets.4 This suggests that there may be mismatch expectations farmers vets.
