摘要: Abstract Silica fiberglass textiles are emerging as uniquely suited supports in catalysis, which offer unprecedented flexibility designing advanced catalytic systems for chemical and auto industries. During manufacturing materials often modified with additives of various nature to improve glass properties. Glass network formers, such zirconia alumina, known provide the fibers higher strength slow down undesirable devitrification processes. In this work multinuclear 1H, 23Na, 29Si, 91Zr NMR spectroscopy was used characterize effect on molecular-level structure. 29Si results help understanding why zirconia-modified is more stable towards comparing pure silica glass. Internal void spaces formed zirconia–silica after acidic leaching correlate sodium water distributions starting bulk probed by 23Na 1H NMR. These voids important stabilization catalytically active species supported catalysts. Potentials high-field study zirconia-containing glasses similarly disordered illustrated.
