摘要: Refractive index distribution in the teleost crystalline lens was measured with a nondestructive method freshly excised lenses of African fish Haplochromis burtoni. Independently, spherical aberration parallel set lenses. The refractive profiles show continual decrease from center to surface lens. H. burtoni is high optical quality and slightly overcorrected for aberration. Details small residual were accurately predicted by ray-tracing model calculations based on profile. profile both more complex characteristics than suggested earlier measurements models.
