The relationship of immunity and nutrition to the acquisition of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

摘要: Selected nutritional and immunological indices of 118 patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) were reviewed retrospectively. Those nosocomial infections had significantly (P less than .05) lower levels serum albumin, total protein, absolute lymphocyte, percentage lymphocytes (on differential) all others (ie, community-acquired colonizations colonizations). Therefore, these parameters might be important indicators subsequent MRSA infestation in certain patient populations.
