摘要: The ability to maintain a homeostatic level of cell tension is essential for many physiological processes. Our group has recently reported that multicellularity required tensional homeostasis in endothelial cells. However, other studies have shown isolated fibroblasts also constant over short time scales without the need cell–cell contacts. Therefore, this study, our aim was determine how different types regulate as cells or small clustered groupings and investigate role adhesion molecules, such E-cadherin, system. Micropattern traction force microscopy used bovine aortic cells, vascular smooth muscle mouse embryonic fibroblasts, human gastric adenocarcinoma with interactions due time. Tension temporal fluctuations single clusters were evaluated. We found only require clustering homeostasis. same not verified Of relevance, we dependent on competence molecule E-cadherin at both multicellular levels. These findings indicate contacts may be critical and, potentially, barrier function endothelium. Furthermore, an important regulator homeostasis, even absence cadherin engagement neighboring which demonstrates its relevance structural but signaling moiety.
