Measurement of normal left atrial function with gated radionuclide angiography.

摘要: A method is described for measuring relative left atrial volume changes with gated radionuclide angiography, using an approximate computer-generated functional image to locate the region of interest. M mode echocardiographic measurements and ventricular distances from chest wall allowed calculation a correction factor differential attenuation photons. Background-corrected time-activity curves obtained normal subjects exhibited excellent temporal resolution were used identify quantitate reservoir contractile phases change. In 20 subjects, mean (+/- standard deviation) value fractional emptying was 0.39 +/- 0.07. Expressed as fractions stroke volume, values specific change (1) 0.25 0.09, (2) 0.29 0.10, (3) conduit 0.46 0.12.
