摘要: The hydrology and nutrient dynamics of a sacred lake in the western part Sikkim Himalaya were studied. watershed has broad-leaved mixed forest agriculture land, two perennial five seasonal inlets, one major outlet. Annual inflow was 1103×106 l while outflow 4279×106 l. About 70% its water from subsurface flow seepage. More than 50% discharge recorded August (peak rainy season month) least March (lean month). Sediment to 346 Mg y-1 316 y-1. remaining 30 deposited lake. High sediment runoff turned turbid caused expansion bog. (dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide, total-N, ammonium-N, phosphate-P chloride) levels lake, inlets outlet varied between seasons sites. Plankton productivity ranged 16 mg C m-2 d-1 winter 247 season. Its respiratory loss 12 160 Religious activities, agriculture, cattle grazing forestry should be controlled for maintaining longevity
