摘要: Abstract Small hydro projects (SHPs) are considered to be more eco-friendly as compared large reservoir-based projects. Throughout the world, SHPs found socially acceptable when with ones because of less displacement population area and minimum harmful effects on flora fauna. But still, in western Himalayan region, these under radar environmentalists local communities sometimes cause long-term negative impact environment due lack proper planning. The unwanted blockages mainstream, ruthless drilling, blasting mountains adverse downstream river migration fish species some environmental impacts. This research article presents study development Jammu Kashmir (J&K), it is one hydro-rich states northwestern region India. In this paper, three from J&K taken for case study. To find out various sustainability issues related SHPs, a detailed discussion project affected people, interaction technical staff in-depth field survey was carried out.
