Investigation of the electronic structure of the cubic spinel Cu1.2Mn1.8O4 using electron energy loss spectroscopy

摘要: Abstract The room temperature cation valency distribution in the single-phase cubic spinel Cu 1.2 Mn 1.8 O 4 was extracted using EELS. Analysis of and L 2,3 core-loss edges revealed that all present as 2+ a multi-valent ground state existed with valence fractions: 55% 4+ , 37% 3+ 8% . pre-peak ELNES on O–K edge confirmed dominant component whilst features are identical to those observed other compounds.
