摘要: The association between colorectal cancer (CRC) and smoking has not been consistent. Incomplete history to a specific subset of CRC tumors have proposed as explanations. adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) gene reported "gatekeeper" function in the colonic mucosa. To evaluate hypothesis that cigarette is associated with adenoma carcinoma development further investigate whether this due mutations APC gene, we used study population consisting 133 cases (45 adenomas 88 carcinomas) 334 controls. All were sequenced mutation cluster region (MCR) gene. Cases controls drawn from homogeneous cohort Norwegian origin. mutational spectra revealed no difference frequencies based on ever never status. An overall case-control was detected for "ever smoking" OR = 1.73 (95% CI 0.83–3.58). For several parameters dose duration used. We an all "duration > 30 years", yielded statistically significant 2.86 (1.06–7.7). When divided truncation status, without relation smoking", 3.97 (1.26–12.51). 4.06 (1.20–13.7). parameter "starting ≥ 40 years ago" only mutations, 2.0 (0.34–11.95). A case-case comparison similar findings parameter, 2.24 (0.73–6.86). Our data suggest development. This strongest mutation. may implicate other factors these tumors. relationship ago", time period long enough proceed initiation.
