摘要: Abstract The role of soil organic matter (SOM) in agricultural systems has been widely studied conjunction with the potential for greenhouse gas mitigation. However, link between SOM accumulation croplands, crop productivity and yield stability not yet clearly established. In this paper, we collected data on provincial yearly (yields, total cropland area) during 1949–1998 average contents croplands sampled determined from National Soil Survey 1979–1982 mainland China. cereal was assessed both an overall mean values different time periods within time, respectively. variability a single stabilizing stage, fluctuating years, calculated as negative measure stability. correlation very significant most provinces, but relationship become less approach present. Moreover, significantly negatively correlated level. findings support our previous hypothesis case studies, that C sequestration China's may provide win–win benefits, by enhancing yield. This offers sound basis mitigation strategy promoting food security agriculture.
