摘要: Abstract Energy management information systems (EMIS) play a critical role in providing actionable insights into building operations, timely feedback, and—ultimately—large energy savings. Current EMIS technologies often focus on industrial applications or require large upfront investments and trained operators, therefore greatly limiting its penetration existing buildings. This paper integrates methods from social, building, data sciences to understand limitations of current inform the design new Multitiered Management Performance Indicators (MEMPI) framework for characterizing performance Specifically, we employed mixed research approach which first conduct in-depth qualitative interviews 10 facility managers consultants. We utilize our MEMPI framework, harnesses highly granular already installed advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) (i.e., smart meters). The employs quantile regression benchmark buildings each other generate key indicators (KPIs). apply real 569 public school California measure their across multiple time scales (e.g., daily, monthly, yearly). Finally, case studies compare perceptions overseeing 8 schools through quantitative post-interview survey. Results study show that managers’ were largely accurate, yet poor certain pieces equipment operating schedules was overlooked by managers. Overall, aims bridge gap between data-driven models domain knowledge held provide more comprehensive
