摘要: Purpose To describe the features of posterior staphylomas in myopic eyes with an axial length shorter than 26.5 mm causing visual loss old age. Design Retrospective, observational case series. Methods After reviewing cases staphyloma, we isolated 16 from 10 patients Results The mean age was 70.0 ± 6.3 years (mean standard deviation; range 59–81). a staphyloma 25.14 0.77 mm and refractive error affected was −4.28 2.65 diopters. median acuity 20/60. All presented diffuse chorioretinal atrophy, which resembles pathologic maculopathy. Fuchs spots previously were detected 3 (19%) lacquer cracks 2 (12%). SDOCT imaging macula showed decreased choroidal thickness all eyes. A macular retinoschisis 5 (31%), ellipsoid zone reflectivity 4 (25%), foveal retinal detachment (12%), dome-shaped 1 (6%), neovascularization–related subretinal scar (19%), outer nuclear layer (19%). 3D-MRI scans 8 staphylomas, lateral angulation, or protrusion No eye featured tilted disc syndrome. Conclusions Posterior exhibit resembling This type might cause impairment elderly can be considered atypical forms of pathologic myopia
