Postoperative complications of septal quilting and BIPP packing following septoplasty.

摘要: BACKGROUND Septoplasty is one of the most common surgeries in otorhinolaryngology. After septal surgery nasal packing usually done to prevent complications like haemorrhage, haematoma. However it associated with many postoperative such as pain, hypoxia, dryness throat, headache, epiphora, vestibular stenosis, crusting, synaechiae, secondary infection etc. In order these quilting has been developed. No study our country compare after septoplasty. METHODS This was carried out oedema, synaechia and patients who underwent BIPP following septoplasty from August 2008 July 2011 Department ENT-Head Neck Surgery, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, Nepal. RESULTS There were 44 41 group. Out group, crusting occurred 3 patients, oedema 4 synechia 1 patient patients. 9 had present 7 6 5 infection.
